Pneumatic Transport Systems for the Coffee Industry
OGA has specialized in the last few decades in designing systems for handling coffee with the concept of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for proper implementation in production processes.
Each development inherently incorporates basic concepts such as protection against cross-contamination, preservation of the coffee bean, accumulation points, equipment cleaning facilities, traceability, and finishes that are increasingly demanding in line with industrial requirements.
The green coffee is taken and moved to an initial system called cleaning towers. From this point, it goes to the storage phase in one or multiple silos. Here, automatic weighing and mixing take place for batch preparation, which is then transported to the roasting process.
From the roasters, pneumatic transport is carried out to the storage tanks for roasted coffee, ensuring minimal breakage of the coffee and preserving its aromatic properties. Subsequently, the roasted coffee is stored according to its reference in storage silos. The material is then weighed based on the mixing or preparation recipe.
Depending on the process requirements, it can be directed to packaging processes or grinding processes. From there, it is transported to storage silos where the degassing process takes place. Finally, it is moved to packaging (Ground Coffee).
